Coach Mike Shelton is running for Minneapolis Park Board in District 2.  He is a great candidate who knows the people of Minneapolis and the Park system they need.

Meet Coach Mike

• Born and raised in North Minneapolis, currently lives in the Lind-Bohanon neighborhood with wife Sheila and three sons - Therian, Kresean, Myles
• High School Coach for over 20 years – North, Henry, Park Center and high level youth – basketball, baseball, golf
• Basketball coach at Minneapolis North, with stops at Patrick Henry High School
• North Commons Athletic Director,  Theodore Wirth Golf Course for Minneapolis Parks (Pre-Covid)
• Executive Director –  Heritage Youth Sports Foundation  
• Coalition Leadership Team – Seeds To Harvest Coalition
• Part of coalition to concept North Commons redesign 
• Ongoing support of and participation in activities for kids - including, but not limited to, Northside Soccer Day (received a Proclamation), Seeds to Harvest World Record Day, Sol of the Cities Futsal League - with over 120 kids attending daily through the summer
• ​Started Northside Golf & Tennis Club at North Commons (free for youth age 6-13)
